Has anyone got this yet? Although I've got it on order, let's just say I aquired off a mate :)

Listened through only once, seems good, nothing actively bad but no songs strike me as super-duper-fantastic either tbh :) Thoughts?

ive had about 5 tracks of it for a while now and nothing i consider STUNNING like the previous 2 albums

ive had it on pre order for abit now so im hoping when i hear the album in full all the hype for it is justified

not really jimmy rush of blood to the head was in the album charts for like 2 years of something - both the previous albums are just stunning its obvious to see where this hype has come from - along with a bit of clever marketing - ive been itching to get me hands on this album since early last year!!! and in 6 days ill have it!!!

1 good reason not to put them in your car ;)

I enjoyed 'Rush of Blood...' but this one doesn't seem to cut it. Hopefully it will grow.

F**k me thats unexpected - the singles don't do it justice the hype is 100% correct

it is amazing - it possibly is the best of all three - it is certainly not a disappointment :o

I hate coldplay, I think there slow, boring and monotonous, I cant stand it, their music (What Ive heard so far) is just depressing.

I don't get it either. Maybe that's how my kids will rebel against their parents - they'll get sensible haircuts, wear smart clothes, play bland pop music at low volume and be home at 9 pm every night.

464,000 thousand copies sold in a week, thats the second fastest selling album since records began in the early 90's

the first two have also re-entered the charts

David
13th June 2005, 07:00
Records began in the 1990s? I'd always assumed that the number of albums sold per week had been recorded for a lot longer than that. I probably based my assumption on the fact that the album chart is published weekly, but of course that is only a comparison of the number of albums sold in selected outlets per week. They've also been giving out gold discs for decades but I suppose they don't need to know how many were sold per week, just the total number.

BroadbandPlacey
13th June 2005, 17:32
dunno just said on bbc that records began in early '90s. Only oasis has sold more in its first week

well, whose seen the video for Fix you, the next single and by far best song on the album?

it is brilliant, you think, "what is this it" then it reveals itself at the instrumental bit like the song, brilliant idea, well matched to the song and great videoo

i wont give anymore away because im sure one or two of the people who actually care wont have seen it yet

I got my dad it for fathers day so i borrowed it. Never really been into cold play but fix you is by far the best song. But now its realised its going to slowly suck. I think thats what cold play are, a dads band i think everyone i know got there day it for fathers day. Like rem eh jimmy ;)

BroadbandPlacey

ey, you leave the legends alone!!! you can take the pee outta coldplay but takin da pee outta REM is goin too far ;)

Coldplay ARE the new REM. The mum&dad's band, who never hit the number 1 spot (okay so they do now but that'll change) but make millions upon millions out of their album being bought as Xmas/BDay present, used for shop & commercial background music, because it's so inoffensive and pretty.

The songs are good, as are REMs. But they are still the new face of mum-rock.

Mums do tend to like those nice young men with their smart clothes and sensible shoes and haircuts.

Swafe

Them mothers do sure hate me, not so nice, baggy clothes, skate shoes and long hair
