PS3 Price and Date Confirmed

Sony have finally confirmed the UK launch details for PS3.

As expected the price is £425 for the 60Gb (No 20gb option)

Launch date: 23rd March

Just gotta wait for the pre-order systems to start and I will be a happy chappy !

I still can't get a Wii, was up at 5:00 AM this sunday going from store to store and had no luck. But one store I was at had a whole pallet of ps3's in. I'm, sure they are fun but I'll have to wait for a few price drops before i get one.

never had a playstation nor will i at that cost. i would rather have a 360.

I agree it is quite expensive but I have sold loads of old stuff to raise the cash so it doesnt seem to bad when I think about how I raised the cash.

I think PS3 is going to be a much better bet than 360 BUT tbh I will probably end up with a 360 as well when that drops in price.

I heard on the radio that the price tag is much higher here than in the US and the only people who will get one from the first shipment will those who have previously registered an interest. Everyone else will have to wait until next Christmas. If that's true then Sony must be arrogant or incompetent or both.

I have the Wii and did want a PS3 but at that price they can get stuffed. That's stupid bloody money!!!

the original playstation cost more than that on release. the only reason that the 360 is so much cheaper is because microsoft is bank rolling it. Arn't sony loosing money per PS3 sold anyway?

Yes MS are bankrolling the 360 and Sony lose about £100 I have heard.

Yes it is a lot of money but you are getting a lot for your money too. The 360 may seem like a bargain but by the time you add on the extras to make it a true HD piece of kit then it comes in around the same price as a PS3.

The original PS cost this kind of money and that was JUST a console. The PS3 is so much more. DVD, Blueray, Music, Video clips, Internet, Wifi, Bluetooth oh! and Games !

As soon as I can pre-order one I will but if I miss out then I think that they will be in stock most places within a couple of months. The US came out in November and now there are stocks all over.

But inevitably it will drop in price but that wont be for at least another twelve months at least. The 360 aint dropped yet and thats over twelve months now.

Get one or wait for one you know your gonna want one in the end ! :hehe:
