New toy

Thought id get a cheapish console to play around with. Havent had one since the saturn. I just won an auction on ebay for this:

xbox and one controller with the following games and fully boxed with manuals for £60. £15 postage :( so a total of £75. I dont think i got much of bargain but dont think i paid over the odds for it. what do you think?

not bad m8, get it chipped and i know a certian ftp with 100+ x box games on it:) oh also u can turn it into a divx player fairly easily so for 75 quid x box divx player:) games are pretty cack though. id rec getting splinter cell. awesome game on the x-box oh also the buffy game weren't 2 bad.

XBMC is the best media front-end I've seen on anything ever. Plays absolutely anything. Got mine hooked up wirelessly in the lounge to play all the stuff from my PC upstairs

Music, vids, photos etc.
You can get a myriad of scripts & extensions for it as well. One I like is browse & download quicktime movie trailers from apple website & watch them fullscreen in great quality straight off the web

Xbossness all the way, if you saw it in action you'd buy one just to use XBMC

ive got an xvid player already so i probably wont use it for that. probably just use it for gaming to start with. when are they going to stop making games for the x box?

for a while yet, they made the ps1 games a fair while, while ps2's are out

well hes got access to 243 x box games off a ftp. im sure if he worked through all them... hed not need any new ones for a long while. id be tempted by an x-box 360 ocne they drop to a sensible price. already 22 xbox 360 games on a ftp i know of :)

slight problem....the games are cracked but the console itself isn't, apparantly its going to be a bitch to crack coz theres a chip designated to security

buffy the vampire slayer, splinter cell. oh halo 1 & 2. something to miss :) jsut got on that ftp and que up what sounds good... what i did.

i get halo 1 and 2 with it. will have to give them a try as im not really a fan of halo. havent played halo 2 tho.

beerbarons got enough x-box dvds on that site for 150 days worth of solid downloading :) your gonna need a bigger connection and a big pack of blank dvds. ive played halo 1 and 2 and a consules attemept at first person shooters just doesn't work.

1mb is quick enough for me. dont really use much faster than that. if faster becomes cheaper then it might be worth up grading
