MAN.
I knew there was a reason I am proud to be British.
It's like a patriotic mass-orgasm! I have to be there, at one of the Last Nights in the Albert Hall, before I die.

yeah ditto sara,
im no real fan of classical music but its more than that aint it, i love the last nite, land of hope and glory is really the key for me, i still say it should be our rather long national anthem!!! get rid of the god save the queen stuff, LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!!!

I've always wanted Land Of Hope And Glory to be our national anthem. Either that or something about the country or people but not about a how cool the current monarch is. :slayer:
btw thanks for the putting the image in my head of the guy having his testicles stood on Sara.

Yeah, but God Save the Queen upsets anybody who's jealous that us British still have a Royal Family.
Which in my book is a bonus!! :roflmao:

Verse 6 about Marshal Wade beating the Scots is always good for a laugh as well.
6.
Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the Queen!

I thought you'd mention that. It's hardly likely to unite the nations.

The other thing you are overlooking is that the National Anthem, is not officially the National Anthem anyway. Its just the tune traditionally used as a National Anthem.
