Hey all,

As part of my watercooling setup, I was happy to get my eheim pump today only to find that it's got some crazy european plug on it (grrr... forgot to mention that one in the description didn't they? )

Anyways, rather than just stripping off the plug an fitting a bog standard UK one, I have a cunning idea. Is it possible to buy those plugs that you get on the back of PSUs? It would be neat to screw one of those to the back of the case so that you can plug the pump into the power the same way as you do with PSUs (I hope that makes sense! :hehe: )

Yes, you can

When I connected my Eheim, I took a spur from the inside of the PSU and passed it out of the front of the PSU (along with all the DC cabling) and fed the pump from that.
Clean and easy mod if you are handy with a soldering iron. :)

Yeah, tried ordering it from Maplin earlier - it's £1.68 including the protective cover thingy... and £7 delivery :slap: For that price I can get a new Qtec power supply and rip it out :hehe:

Grrrrrr!

After being pissed off with Maplin's silly delivery charges, I spent ages finding another electronics shop. I eventually found Rapid Electronics. They charged £4.00 which wasn't wonderful, but better than Maplin.

Now they've just e-mailed me to say that the carriage will be £13.00 to Jersey... ffs! It's two bits of plastic worth 79p!! :curse:

Pc companys charge stupid money for shipping. I order alot of stuff from bike sites and most of them do next day delivery, insured and recorded for free. Now thats service, unlike um ebuyer you wont have your goods for a month unless you pay £10, overlcokers are quiet good tho. Handy for me hopefuly there will be a maplins opening next to where i work :D

Cheers Slam but I think it's sorted :) I sent them another e-mail today asking if they could use royal mail instead and they said that's possible...
