I'll let this one stand for now....
if it turns out to be a one off then fine but joining up to pimp stuff is not really the done thing on any board.
the other thread is going though.....

OK the intention was not to offend, I'm only trying to reach the right people who might be interested in this.
It's genuine, I didn't put a reserve price and whilst I want to recoup some of the my original cost it will end up being a bargain for someone.
Thanks

well, at least you came back and posted. you are welcome to stay and join in by all means. i take a fairly relaxed view to things here which seems to work but usually when people join up with a sales pitch as a first post it usually turns out to be spam which does get on my tits a bit.

Go on then COmPK!LL£R. I can't be arsed reading the FAQ's on teh eBay link.
Tell us what's so great about this stuff.
(Don't mean to sound confrontational, but I need to be persuaded before believing anything)
BTW - Slam's right. Stay and keep us posted. If you are the sort who tries out these kinda new ideas, this place is a good place to bounce them about and see what people think. You might even get to like the place. :shifty:

Its inert, quite popular for watercooling pc's, as if you have a leak it will not conduct so your computer wont completely fry itself. It also doesnt support biological life so it means if you have a sealed system you dont have to arse about changing the liquid all the time.
A more expensive but better system used for the direct die cooling (literally sprayed directly onto the system) found in cray super computers and so on is called Flourinert I believe, aka PF5080 or something :)
Fluid XP is the cheap mans version of flourinert.

Appreciate the feedback and can see what you mean about one off sales posts. I actually have been to this site many times whilst developing my current water cooled system and planning my next project.
Thanks M3ta7h3ad, Fluorinert is better but let's be honest it cost the earth (quite literally) and whilst it has military specifications it far exceeds any home pc use regardless of how high end you plan to go.
Fluorinert liquids, which are perfluorocarbon (PFC) materials, have high
global warming potentials and long atmospheric lifetimes. As such, they
should be carefully managed to minimize emissions.
They even have guidelines for storage and dispossal of such fluids. Fluid XP+ offers very similar capabilities (although a much lower boiling point than Fluorinert) but is totally safe, you could drink it with no side effects.
Sounds like I'm on commission (OK so I am selling my own stock) but I just want to keep the knowledge level accurate and true.

Hey compkiller what sort of water cooling setup you got? I am thinking about it as a possibility for my new system over the next few months, any pointers would be welcome!

The bids have gone upto £20.02 a litre and will probably top out at just a bit more.
Currently am running aReserator unit, before you all go 'oh passive', it's been fitted with the Eheim 1000 internal pump taking fluid moved to 1000 litres per hour which is over 300 times more than standard. I ent for the silent but deadly approach, it's enough to cool the overclocked cpu and gpu, specs below:
Asus P4P800-E
P4 Prescott 3.0 @ 3.6
PSU Tagan silent 480w
Crucial Ballistix PC4000 1GB (2 x 512) 2.5/4/4/8 @ 960
Sapphire X800XTPE @ 560/1200
Twin Silenced 74GB WD Raptor SATA RAID 0
120GB Maxtor (back-up)
Sony DVD/RW DW-D22A
Zalman Reserator1, w/Eheim 1000 lph mod
CPU Gold Block and VGA Block
Cobalt Pyramid Thermal Sensing
Audigy ZS 2 Plat.
The case is the old Global Win design now being punted out by AKASA. It's a great case so any of you looking for the extra space should definately consider it.
I could post pics.......

I'm slowly converting my system across to AquaComputer. It costs a fortune but it's gorgeous :D
